Employed by Galliard Homes,
Glass Canvas created what were described as "seductive visualisations" to
illustrate how the scheme would look when seen from several vantage points in
and around one of the oldest roadways in London.
Old Kent Road's multi billion-pound transformation is made up of four schemes, Cantium Retail Park being one, and a new chapter in it's long history opens as a major high-rise reshaping of it moves a step closer.
Towers of up to 48 storeys feature in all four schemes, sanctioned by the council’s draft Old Kent Road Area Action Plan. This promises 20,000 new homes and 10,000 new jobs in retail and hotels, plus work space, over the next 20 years.
Perhaps like King’s Cross before it, the Old Kent Road could become a new destination in London, defined by its taller buildings, new public realm and upgraded transport links.
